Grants & Contributions

Axonics proudly supports educational programs, research initiatives, and charitable efforts that are aligned with our mission and vision to advance patient care, benefit the health care community, and raise public awareness about conditions that negatively affect the lives of millions of people globally.

AXONICS POLICY

  • The use of the requested grant must comply with applicable laws and the AdvaMed Code of Ethics on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.
  • The requested grant shall not be provided in exchange for or as a condition for the purchase, use, recommendation, or prescription of Axonics products by the requestor or any of the participants in the educational activities for which the requested grant would be used.
  • The grant may only be used to cover modest and fair market value costs for (i) the facility where the event is taking place, (ii) supplies needed for the event, (iii) meals, travel, and lodging for faculty or attendees, and (iv) honoraria or consulting fees for faculty. The grant proceeds may not be used to cover the costs of (i) entertainment, recreation, or touristic activities, (ii) spouses, partners, or guests of faculty or attendees, (iii) operating costs of the requesting organization, or (iv) any other items not directly linked to the education and approved by Axonics.
  • Approval of the request by Axonics shall be provided by email. All approved grant requests must be documented in a fully-executed, written agreement before any award is due and payable.

Educational Grants

Educational grants may be provided to third-party organizations for valid educational or scientific reasons such as advancing medical education or training of health care professionals (“HCPs”) or raising patient and public awareness on important health care topics that align with Axonics’ core business. Grants may be monetary, in-kind or other contributions to third-parties. Grants must be provided to a third-party program organizer or to a training institution or entity, such as a hospital, academic center or society. Grants may not be provided to a specific individual or private practice. Requests will be reviewed and considered based on merits of the program. Unfortunately, due to finite resources, Axonics cannot support all grant requests or requests may only be partially funded. We appreciate your understanding. All approved grant requests must be documented in a fully-executed, written agreement before any award is due and payable

Educational Event Support

Grants may be used to offset the costs of an educational event, such as room rental fees, modest food and beverage, or educational items. Grants may also be used to offset the costs of travel or lodging of HCPs attending the event so long as Axonics has no influence or control in the selection of the HCP who benefits from the grants.

Educational Program Support

Grants may be used to support the costs of advanced educational programs, such as a Fellowship training or research. Funds may also be used to offset the costs of travel or lodging of HCPs attending educational/scientific meetings so long as Axonics has no influence or control in the selection of the HCP who benefits from the grants.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Description of the program, including date, location, topics, names of faculty, number of attendees
  • Copy of the program agenda and any materials sent to prospective attendees
  • Program budget broken down by category (room rental, F&B, educational costs, etc.)
  • List of other sponsors
  • Fully completed W-9 signed and dated in the current year
  • If applicable, CME accreditation certificate
  • If applicable, charitable organizations must provide IRS determination letter

Research Grants

Research grants may be provided at the sole discretion of Axonics’ Grant Committee to institutions seeking monetary or in-kind product donation for independent research that provides valuable scientific or clinical information, improves patient care or leads to new technology or treatments options that are related to Axonics’ core business. Grants may be monetary, in-kind product donation or other contributions to third-parties. Grants may not be provided to a specific individual or private practice. Grants must be provided to a third-party program organizer or to a training institution or entity, such as a hospital, academic center or society. All studies must be independently developed by requestor and requestor must retain independent control over the research. Requests will be reviewed and considered based on merits of the study. Unfortunately, due to finite resources, Axonics cannot support all grant requests or requests may only be partially funded. We appreciate your understanding. All approved grant requests must be documented in a fully-executed, written agreement before any award is due and payable. Sales representatives, agents or distributors may not commit Axonics support of any grant or other funding. Grant requests are reviewed by a cross-functional committee. To ensure Axonics can consider your request, please refrain from discussing your request with any members of Axonics Sales organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Study protocol with defined goals, objectives, outcome measures, and milestones that aligned with the disease states Axonics treats
  • Itemized study budget that aligns with study objective(s)
  • If in-kind donation of product, documentation that supports the reasonable quantity of product requested
  • Outline of the nature, scope, and timeline of the research activity
  • Any independent approvals or authorizations
  • Fully completed W-9 signed and dated in the current year

Charitable Giving/Mission Trips

Charitable grants may be provided to third-party organizations seeking monetary or in-kind product donations for conditions treated by Axonics products, indigent patient population needs, natural disaster relief, etc.. Grants will be made only to charitable organizations or other non-profit entities with bona fide charitable and/or philanthropic purposes. Grants may not be provided to a specific individual or private practice. Charitable purpose will be determined by (1) the entity’s tax status, (2) the entity’s corporate status under state law, and (3) whether the organization has a charitable mission or purpose, among other factors. Charitable donations of product for indigent patients are permitted provided they exclusively benefit patients and are permitted under applicable laws. Product donations are contingent upon a hospital’s agreement that no third parties will be billed for the donated product.

  • If products are to be used outside of the United States, written approval from the countries where the product is to be used.
